The Sierra Nevada Adaptive Management Project (SNAMP) hosted a field trip with the Owl Team to demonstrate research methods on Saturday, July 11, 2009 near Foresthill, CA. Project Leader and Owl Reserchers Doug Temple and Sheila Whitmore reviewed research methods used to study California Spotted Owls and demonstrated baiting and capture, banding and identifying techniques. The goal of the field trip was to familarize participants in SNAMP and other interested members of the public with the owl research being conducted as part of the project.
